Amid the arid landscape of the Ceará backlands, Tarcísio Moura controls a small criminal empire with the “João de Barro” pottery as its facade. It is within the Moura family that a series of unburied grudges and inconsequential actions are about to precipitate a spiral of violence that will test the family’s foundations, their power and their political future, raising a proud and unlikely leader to power.
WITHOUT SEA VIEW is a series about family succession and ambition in the interior of Ceará. With a strong influence of the genres of crime and suspense, it is a free adaptation of the book of the same name by the writer Carol Rodrigues, winner of the Jabuti award in 2014. The series is inspired by the fabulous spectrum of characters constructed by the author, intertwined by a universe whose latent hostility constantly pushes you out of your limits. It is in this terrain, in the small town of Patexauí, that a powerful and conflicting family lives, whose patriarch keeps in control a regional network of smuggling and receiving stolen cargo. Like the Patexauí, the Moura family is governed by an eminently sexist system, legitimized by the inhabitants of the place. When Claudinha takes the reins of the business wanting to prove that she too can be worthy of her father’s recognition, he threatens her and she kills him. For the first time in Patexauí a woman will start running a business dominated by unscrupulous men, highwaymen and corrupt police.
