CINEMA INFLAMÁVEL is a Fortaleza-based independent film production company focused on creating original content for film and television.
Its main goal is to nurture bold and singular projects from the Northeast of Brazil developing a cutting edge local filmography for an international audience through long-term collaboration with directors and production partners.
Founded by director Karim Ainouz and producer Janaina Bernardes CINEMA INFLAMÁVEL has co-produced a variety of feature films and documentaries, such as Madame Satã (2002), world premiered at the section Un Certain Regard of Cannes Film Festival, Swimming-Pool Blue Acrylic Backlands (2004), Love for Sale (2006) and I Travel Because I Have To, I Come Back Because I Love You (2010), both premiered at the Venice Film Festival.
In 2017 the company has received the support of the ANCINE (Brazilian Film Agency) to develop a slate of 5 feature film projects and 2 series. In full expansion and growth, CINEMA INFLAMÁVEL is taking on a new group of young directors and screenwriters to pursue its mission toward creating a vital and vibrant filmography.
